Опубликовано: 18 июл 2012 копирую My name is Joseph Bednarek, and I am the Program Officer for Europe and Eurasia for the Global Fund for Children (GFC). Some of who may remember that I worked for IREX in Ukraine from 2007-2010. I now work for the Global Fund for Children, based in Washington, DC. The Global Fund for Children is a grant-making organization that supports nascent community based groups around the globe who are working to assist and protect vulnerable children. Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000 per year, growing in size and scope over the course of the funding relationship, and may be used for general or operating support of the grantee partner organization. We currently invest over $550,000 in 42 community-based organizations in the Europe and Eurasian region, which includes 13 countries from the United Kingdom to Tajikistan. The region includes Ukraine, where we currently have 4 partners, although we hope to expand the number of partners there. To that end, I’ll be traveling to Ukraine from August 5-18, to meet with our current grantee partners and to scout for new partners. Unlike many other organizations, GFC does not accept or solicit project proposals from NGOs. Rather, we meet with organizations first and then determine whether they would be a good match for GFC funding. If you know an organization that fits into the following criteria, please email me directly with their contact information and any information about their main programs and I will try to meet with them during my upcoming trip. Please also feel free to email me with general questions about GFC and the grant process. When searching for new partners, we use a wide range of criteria (listed here http://www.globalfundforchildren.org/eligibility-selection), but primarily, we look for NGOs that: 1) Were registered as an NGO less than 10 years ago2) Are “small” to “medium”-sized, which means that they have organizational budgets of $10,000 to $100,000. 3) Have official, state registration4) Are focused primarily on children and youth (up to age 24). We support organizations and programs that focus on four specific issues: Learning, Enterprise, Safety, and Healthy Minds and Bodies, but this includes a wide range of issues. Many of the partners in the Europe and Eurasia region work with Roma kids, kids with disabilities, orphans, and street kids, to name just a few. I look forward to hearing about innovative Ukrainian kids NGOs in your communities!
